Land Use / Land Cover and Changes Maps
Land Use / Land Cover and Changes Maps are included in the portfolio. The definition of the map classes is specific to geographic region and user needs such as mapping of land use and land use changes UNFCCC/KP.

Forest Area Maps / Forest Area Change Map
Forest Area and Area Change Maps provide geo-referenced information on location, distribution, changes and statistics of forest and non-forest area.
- Based on the Forest Area Maps, Forest Area Change Maps are produced.
- Defined target areas Forest Area and Forest Area Change Statistics can be derived.
Three types of Forest Area Maps are included in the portfolio:
- Forest Area Map based on optical sensors:
- LANDSAT TM, SPOT 2-5, LANDSAT ETM, equivalent sensors
- High Precision Forest Area Map:
- Here special emphasis is laid on the positional accuracy of the forest border.
- Forest Area Map for Cloudy Regions:
- Based on SAR Technology, especially suited for equatorial regions.

Forest Type Map
Three types of forest type maps are presently included in the portfolio. The definition of the map classes is specific to geographic region, user needs and to a high degree subject of customisation.
- Forest Type Map
- Providing forest strata to apply stratified estimates using NFI data.
- Stand Type Map for Subnational Forest GIS
- Providing basic information stands (mainspecies, crown coverage).
- Stand Type Map for CDM
- Providing basic forest type maps without formally defining forest stands and forest stand boarders.
